The VMS Bridge Program has proudly announced the successful recipients of its first-ever awards, designed to bolster the growth of startups in Egypt and Saudi Arabia. This initiative aims to create more opportunities for expansion both locally and regionally, as well as internationally, by bridging the entrepreneurial ecosystems of both countries, and equipping entrepreneurs with the skills and understanding needed to penetrate new markets and thrive successfully.
A total of five startups have been awarded a four-day trip to Saudi Arabia, where they will have the opportunity to meet with Saudi investors and discuss investment opportunities. This strategic prize is intended to empower these companies to break into the Saudi market, fostering growth and enabling them to attract investments for regional expansion in the Arab and Middle Eastern markets.
The five companies awarded are:
- Amanleek: Co-founded by entrepreneurs Mohab Ahmed and Mohamed Yahya, this digital platform specializes in offering a comprehensive range of insurance services for individuals and companies.
- Farhy: Founded by entrepreneur Nadine Farag, it’s an online platform that aggregates products and services related to weddings in one place.
- Sprints: Established by entrepreneur Bassam Sharqawi, this digital platform focuses on educational technology programs aimed at employment, helping youths secure jobs in top tech companies both within and outside of Egypt.
- Career 180: Launched by entrepreneurs Mohamed Akmal and Shorouk Alaa, this digital platform for qualification and employment offers over 200 recorded courses for job seekers, along with practical test interviews to prepare them for the job market.
- Jamaykaa: Started by entrepreneur Mohamed Riyad, this platform enables commercial institutions and small businesses to easily display and sell products, while also providing storage, packaging, and shipping services.
Two additional startups, part of the Rally Entrepreneurship Accelerator program by the Entrepreneurship Center of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport, received awards from VMS. These are complimentary licenses for company registration in Saudi Arabia, and the startups are:
- Notchnco: Co-founded by Bassem Nassif and Nasser Mahrous, this digital platform enhances customer engagement with businesses through WhatsApp and other social media channels.
- Neqabty: Founded by entrepreneur Dunia El Foly, this app specializes in connecting unions with their members, enabling them to access all services electronically.
Three environmentally and socially conscious companies secured an award from “Aruuqa”, which includes free access to Aruuqa’s specialized training program. These winners are:
- AgryCash: Co-founded by Dr. Mohamed Hamdy and Dr. Diaa Youssef, a digital platform aimed at financing small farmers and promoting sustainable organic agriculture.
- ReNile: Established by Hazem Eltawab, Ibrahim Elziat, and Amir Sabry, this platform focuses on the Internet of Things in agriculture, enabling remote farm management and automation.
- ICareer: Launched by entrepreneur Akram Marwan, this platform specializes in education for employment, offering training services and human resource technology.
All participating companies in the VMS Bridge Program also receive a 50% discount on an investment program offered by entrepreneur Mohamed Nagaty and Saudi investors, aimed at supporting these companies in their journey towards financing for expansion and growth.
