The General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises, “Monsha’at,” concluded the “Industry and Mining Pioneers Week” in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources. The event, attended by Minister Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef, took place in Riyadh, Madinah, Jeddah, and Khobar.
The initiative aimed to raise awareness among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and entrepreneurs about promising investment opportunities. It featured discussions with industry leaders and support entities, providing insights into potential sectoral opportunities.
Throughout the week, over 36 meetings and workshops were held, involving 20 government and private entities. More than 1,600 participants, including entrepreneurs and SME owners, registered for the events.
Minister Al-Khorayef highlighted that 90% of companies in the sector are SMEs, emphasizing their crucial role in the industry through various contributions. He noted the effectiveness of industrial tech applications in solving major industry issues, particularly in mining, where proven technologies enhance mine safety, environmental protection, and productivity.
Firas Al-Humaidi, Executive Vice President of Goods Exports at the Saudi Export Development Authority, outlined the authority’s focus areas: consulting and training for exporting enterprises, export promotion through international exhibitions, and addressing export-related challenges.
Al-Humaidi also mentioned that the “Made in Saudi” program now brands over 12,000 products across various industries, establishing a unified identity for Saudi products. He noted the existence of 11,890 factories in the Kingdom, producing a range of goods from construction materials to food products and petrochemicals.
By organizing specialized weeks, Monsha’at continues to support SMEs by collaborating with partners to create opportunities that promote growth and sustainability for these enterprises.
