In a collaborative effort to bolster the national workforce within the contracting sector, the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises, known as ‘Monsha’at’, partnered with the Saudi Contractors Authority to launch the first workshop of a program aimed at developing the competencies of local entrepreneurs. The event, which took place in Riyadh’s Enterprise Support Center, saw the attendance of 75 beneficiaries. Distinguished guests included the Deputy Governor for Planning and Development at Monsha’at, Engineer Sulaiman Al-Turif, along with Taha Al-Safi, the head of sector development at the Saudi Contractors Authority, and a host of experts in the field.
The multifaceted program is designed to qualify entrepreneurs for entry into the promising construction sector, connecting them with major companies and aligning them with best practices globally. Initially, participants complete a training curriculum at the Monsha’at Academy, followed by workshops featuring prominent contracting experts. Further stages include completing courses offered by the Saudi Contractors Authority in occupational health and safety and project management. The final phase involves integrating them with leading firms in the sector to leverage the skills and experience imparted to the entrepreneurs and owners of small and medium-sized enterprises.
The comprehensive training program encompasses various tracks that assist entrepreneurs in growing their innovative projects. These include feasibility studies, steps for establishing a business, growth factors for small and medium-sized enterprises, alongside risk and operations management, product and service development, and preparing competitive bids for tenders and auctions among other supportive topics for the participants.
