In a collaborative effort with the Ministry of Education, the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises, known as ‘Monsha’at’, has launched the ‘Future Entrepreneur’ initiative. This initiative is designed to endow participants with essential skills and practical know-how to embark on commercial ventures, thereby equipping them to tackle the challenges faced by entrepreneurs across various sectors.
The initiative targets male and female students in general education with the goal of imparting cognitive skills and enabling them with experiences to solve entrepreneurial challenges. The initiative’s website has already seen approximately 17,000 beneficiaries from all regions of the Kingdom, and a dynamic entrepreneurs’ market has been activated in Riyadh with 30 student-led projects that were selected from 83 registered projects.
Three main programs constitute the initiative: The Foundational Entrepreneurial Skills program featuring 6 narrative educational videos tailored for each educational stage, the Entrepreneurs’ Market program which activates markets in 5 Saudi cities in partnership with commercial complexes (Riyadh, Dammam, Abha, Hail, Jeddah) showcasing 30 projects per event for exhibition and sale, and finally, the Entrepreneurial Challenge Competition, which involves entrepreneurial contests aimed at generating innovative solutions for various industry challenges, including monetary prizes and incentives for the winners.
This initiative is part of Monsha’at’s ongoing efforts to foster a culture of entrepreneurship, freelance work, and innovation among the younger generation. It aims to hone their talents by providing them with the core skills required at the outset of their entrepreneurial journey. The initiative also strives to overcome any obstacles they may face, thereby supporting the growth of their startups and transforming their innovations into promising commercial projects. Educational content has been tailored for each educational level to ensure the initiative’s impact is effective and sustainable.
